Objective: Develop a large, full width extension combining kitchen, dining and living space at the rear of this well sized family home. The extension needed to blend seamlessly into the property in a natural way. To create a stunning, open and airy environment with clean lines providing both a functional living area and retreat for the family.

This stunning extension immediately conveys a feeling of openness. The smart design is enhanced by a bespoke modern Ebstone kitchen with large workspaces. RW1 worked with Ebstone to ensure the kitchen design was perfectly realised. The extension takes advantage of the entire width of the ground floor footprint, providing a clear vista of the garden. Cooking, dining and living areas are generous, and spacious. This feeling of space is emphasised by the high ceiling with a full width arch construction stretching across the entire build encompassing large format Velux windows.

The extension fits naturally with the style of the property in brick and blends into the garden almost as an original feature of the property. The wide format patio doors provide both light and an unencumbered view to the outside, leading to a smart patio with integral seating area.

The extension provides the family 'hub' and is likely to be both the busiest and most enjoyable part of the house during the day, whilst in the evening, it transforms into a delightful dining experience or a more than appropriate area for parties and get togethers.

The client: The Edwards Family, Ealing.

Objective: Create an open and light living space with bedroom, work/office area and well sized bathroom with easy access via a decorative new staircase to fit in with the rest of the property.

This beautiful loft conversion has three key features. With careful planning between the client and RW1 they managed to create a very well-lit series of spaces, with natural daylight to the fore. With the use of carefully placed lighting, the space is also a delight at night.

The second notable feature is the access, by a decorative staircase the fits perfectly with the rest of the property. It's crafted with care and fitted to ensure a smooth transition from the first floor to the loft, as if it had always been there.

The third feature is the space! There is loads of room and plenty of well thought out storage. Again, careful planning and a close partnership between client and builder has delivered a loft that might very well end up being the households favourite place to spend time.
